The Blush and Sapphire Restaurants are the heart of the ship’s traditional dining experience, serving exquisite three-course meals in a sophisticated setting. The menus change daily, keeping every dinner fresh and exciting. Here are some tips to maximize your enjoyment:

Embrace the Unique Appetizers: Don’t shy away from the more distinctive menu specials found among the appetizers. These often turned out to be our absolute favorites, showcasing creative culinary flair. We particularly loved the earthy beet carpaccio, the refreshing Andalusian gazpacho, and the delicate cured salmon crudo. Each dish was a delightful surprise, perfectly setting the stage for the main course.
Dare to Try “Didja” Offerings: For those with an adventurous spirit, the “Didja” menu items are a must-try. Fahrenheit 555 Steakhouse: This premium steakhouse is a true indulgence and a real special treat for a celebratory evening. The ambiance is elegant, and the service is impeccable. We were absolutely captivated by the tomato confit, a simple yet profoundly flavorful dish that left us dreaming about it long after our meal. The chef was even kind enough to share his recipe, a testament to the friendly and open atmosphere. From perfectly cooked steaks to exquisite sides, every dish here is crafted to perfection, making it well worth the extra cost.
Bonsai Sushi: A true hidden gem on the ship, Bonsai Sushi offers an authentic and high-quality Japanese dining experience. The food is sold à la carte, allowing you to customize your order to your heart’s content. Every roll, nigiri, and sashimi piece was spectacularly fresh and expertly prepared. However, the standout dish for us was undeniably their miso soup – a bowl of comforting perfection that we found ourselves craving repeatedly throughout the cruise.
Cucina del Capitano: This charming restaurant transports you straight to an Italian nonna’s kitchen, serving refined-classic Italian fare in a warm and inviting setting. The dishes are hearty, authentic, and packed with flavor, reminiscent of traditional family recipes. It’s the perfect spot for a cozy dinner, savoring pasta dishes, robust sauces, and delicious desserts.

Blue Iguana Cantina: For fresh, vibrant Mexican flavors, the Blue Iguana Cantina is a top choice. We were absolutely madly in love with their fish tacos and confess to eating far too many of them! The made-to-order tacos and burritos, served with a variety of salsas and toppings, are incredibly satisfying and a perfect casual lunch option.
Guy’s Burger Joint: A Carnival staple, Guy’s Burger Joint, helmed by celebrity chef Guy Fieri, lived up to its legendary reputation. The burgers were absolutely fabulous, featuring juicy patties and an array of creative toppings. It’s the ultimate spot for a classic, satisfying burger fix.
Tandoor: Offering authentic Indian cuisine, Tandoor provides a delicious alternative for lunch. The aromatic spices and flavorful dishes, from curries to fresh naan, are a welcome addition to the diverse culinary landscape of the ship.
Pizza Pirate: Open 24 hours a day, Pizza Pirate is a lifesaver for late-night cravings or a casual bite any time. The Italian-style pizzas were consistently wonderful, providing a comforting and delicious option around the clock.
Comfort Kitchen: This venue offers a rotating menu of hearty, comforting dishes that vary by sailing, ensuring there’s always something new and delicious to try for a quick and satisfying meal.
Room Service: For a truly indulgent late-night treat, look no further than room service. Our top recommendation is the chocolate cake. And here’s a pro tip: if you’re smart, ask them to double the quantity of chocolate mousse they send up with it. We absolutely LOVED that rich, decadent stuff – it was pure bliss delivered right to our cabin door.

Adventures Ashore: Excursions on the Carnival Breeze

Our cruise itinerary was thoughtfully designed to offer a blend of relaxation and adventure, with exciting port calls in Jamaica, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel. While some plans shifted due to external factors, every moment provided an opportunity for new experiences.

Unfortunately, our much-anticipated parasailing excursion on Grand Cayman had to be canceled due to unforeseen weather conditions. This was, naturally, beyond Carnival’s control, but their response was excellent. They promptly offered to slide us into another excursion, demonstrating their commitment to guest satisfaction. However, we had already booked a similar thrill for Cozumel, so we opted to decline. True to their word, Carnival automatically refunded the full amount to our ‘Sail and Sign’ account, making the process seamless and stress-free. Don’t feel too badly for us, though! We certainly didn’t let a change of plans dampen our spirits. Instead, we seized the opportunity to spend the entire day on the ship, availing ourselves of the exhilarating waterslides and indulging in the serene spa facilities – more on these delightful shipboard experiences below. It was a perfect example of making the most of every moment, even when plans deviate.

In Cozumel, Mexico, we embarked on an unforgettable adventure at the “Everybody Loves Rays” excursion, where we had the incredible opportunity to feed, hold, learn about, and swim with magnificent stingrays. The experience was truly interactive and educational, allowing us to get up close and personal with these gentle creatures. The staff overseeing the excursion were exceptional – not only were they incredibly funny and entertaining, but they were also highly knowledgeable and endlessly helpful, ensuring everyone felt comfortable and safe. The entire excursion was managed with impressive efficiency, flowing smoothly from one activity to the next. It was clear that all involved, both guests and staff, had a genuinely wonderful time, creating lasting memories of our encounter with Cozumel’s marine life.

Recommendations for the “Everybody Loves Rays” Excursion in Cozumel, Mexico:

Preparing Young Children: If you’re bringing little ones, it’s a good idea to prepare them for the experience beforehand. Stingrays are quite large and powerful, and their smooth, muscular bodies can be surprising. The ideal scenario for families with young children would include having two adults. This allows you to take turns handling duties if a child becomes frightened or overwhelmed, ensuring that both adults still get a chance to fully experience the excursion without one parent having to watch from the beach with a scared kiddo. Consider showing them videos or pictures of stingrays beforehand to familiarize them.

Bring a Waterproof Camera: A waterproof camera is an absolute essential for this excursion! While you won’t be permitted to use your personal camera during the feeding and holding portions (for the safety of the animals and to ensure professional photos are captured), you are absolutely free to use it while snorkeling and swimming with the stingrays. This allows you to capture amazing underwater footage and photos of these beautiful creatures in their natural environment. Don’t worry about missing out on the unique holding moments, though – the professional photographers on site take loads of pictures of you interacting with the stingrays. You can then purchase a CD from them, which, admittedly, seemed a touch on the pricey side at $30 for one person or $40 for two. However, it’s worth noting that they include quite a few bonus photos and screensavers of stingrays, adding extra value to your purchase.
Post-Excursion Culinary Treat: Once the exhilarating excursion is over, do yourself a huge favor and treat yourself to the incredibly delicious fish tacos and a refreshing mojito from the charming little cantina located right there at the beach. The servings were incredibly generous, and the flavors were absolutely out-of-this-world tasty – a perfect way to cap off an adventurous morning or afternoon.

Endless Fun: Entertainment on the Carnival Breeze

The Carnival Breeze truly offers an abundance of entertainment options, ensuring there’s never a dull moment for guests of all ages. We dived headfirst into nearly everything available, from brain-teasing trivia to vibrant dance parties, and discovered some absolute gems along the way.

Our attempts at Harry Potter trivia, for example, ended in glorious failure for both of us – a testament to how challenging, yet fun, these themed events can be! We also laughed until our sides hurt at the Punchliner Comedy Club, explored the various shops onboard, enjoyed the thrill of the waterslides, sang along at the Piano Bar, caught movies under the stars on deck, danced away at lively deck parties, and attended impressive live shows. The variety was truly astounding, catering to every mood and preference.

Among our favorites, the Piano Bar stood out as a highlight. Here, the incredibly talented Ben played all sorts of classics from every genre imaginable, creating an infectious sing-along atmosphere that enveloped the entire room. He also put some hilariously clever spins on well-known songs and graciously took song requests, keeping the energy high. As the evening progressed and the drinks flowed freely, Ben’s lyrics became a little racier, and the crowd became even more involved, making for an absolutely hilarious and unforgettable adult-only experience. A special shout-out must go to the bartenders in The Piano Bar, who were not only fabulous at their craft but also incredibly funny and personable, adding to the overall vibrant ambiance.

Speaking of adult-only experiences, it’s important to note that the live comedy shows from 9 pm and later are definitely curated for an older crowd. Again, these shows are hilariously entertaining, but as they explicitly tell you, “no kids” are allowed due to the mature content. For families, however, the comedians also offer earlier, “clean” shows that are perfectly family-friendly, ensuring that the whole crew can enjoy some good laughs together.

The waterslides were an absolute HOOT! We embraced our inner big kids and spent considerable time zipping down the various slides. Here’s a pro tip: If you can, take advantage of the slides when the ship is in port and mostly empty. You won’t have to stand in line at all! Meseidy and I zipped down the slides several times (with my waterproof camera in tow to capture the fun) in just a few minutes. Yes, we readily admit it – we are big kids, big dorky kids, and we loved every exhilarating splash!

Rejuvenation and Vitality: The Spa and Fitness Center on the Carnival Breeze

Even on a cruise filled with indulgence, finding moments for wellness and relaxation is essential. The Carnival Breeze provides excellent facilities for both rejuvenation and maintaining your fitness routine.

The Cloud 9 Spa:

On our fourth day of the cruise, we decided to treat ourselves and snapped up a fantastic “Top-to-Toe” spa treatment that happened to be on sale. It was one of the best decisions we made all trip! The comprehensive treatment included an invigorating dry brushing, followed by a luxurious full-body massage enhanced with bamboo rollers and hot stones (a special addition because we booked our treatments for earlier in the day). This was complemented by a deeply relaxing facial and a soothing scalp massage. In a single word, the entire experience was absolutely fabulous. We quite literally floated out of the spa, smelling wonderful and feeling utterly relaxed to the core. The serene atmosphere, combined with the expert hands of the therapists, made for a truly blissful escape. If you have the opportunity to visit the Cloud 9 Spa, I highly, highly advise doing so – it’s a splurge that delivers immense value in terms of relaxation and well-being.

The State-of-the-Art Fitness Center:

For those who prefer to stay active, the fitness center on the Carnival Breeze is impressively well-equipped. It’s fully stocked with just about everything you could possibly want to help you keep in fighting form while at sea. You’ll find a comprehensive range of exercise cycles (both standard upright and comfortable recumbent options), advanced elliptical machines, a fleet of treadmills, a wide selection of free weights, and just about every other piece of modern gym equipment you could wish for. Beyond the machines, the fitness center also offers invigorating group exercise classes, from yoga to spin, and insightful presentations on healthy living and effective weight loss techniques. It’s a fantastic resource for maintaining your routine or even trying something new, all while enjoying panoramic ocean views.

An Unforgettable Voyage: Overall Experience on the Breeze

Our overall experience on the Carnival Breeze was nothing short of extraordinary. The ship buzzed with a high-energy, vibrant crowd; everyone seemed genuinely ready to have an amazing time, creating an infectious atmosphere of joy and excitement. We embraced this energy, trying nearly all the activities and engaging with fellow cruisers, yet we also cherished the flexibility to retreat to our comfortable cabin and relax on our private balcony whenever we needed a quiet moment or two. This perfect balance between exhilarating fun and serene relaxation truly defined our voyage.

One of my absolute favorite moments of the entire cruise was entirely unexpected and beautifully unplanned. We were simply enjoying a leisurely stroll along the deck just before sunset, cameras in hand, hoping to capture the golden hour magic.

As we rounded a corner of the deck, bathed in the warm glow of the setting sun, we witnessed something truly magical: a man dropped to one knee in front of his girlfriend and, in that breathtaking moment, asked her to marry him. What a view! And oh, the romance! The timing was impeccable, and the emotional energy was palpable. I immediately offered to email the photos I had just captured to the happy couple – and spoiler alert, she said yes! They were absolutely tickled that someone had managed to catch such a private and precious moment on camera. I felt the pure, unadulterated love, people! It was truly a scene straight out of the Love Boat, a beautiful reminder of the joy and human connection that happens on these incredible journeys. The Carnival Breeze delivered not just a vacation, but a collection of cherished memories, from culinary delights and thrilling adventures to unexpected moments of profound human connection, making it an experience we’ll forever treasure.
